Over the course of four hours, multimedia developer Varun Desai will introduce workshop participants to the possibilities of creating code-based visual art in real time.
During the first TIME: Russia – India. Mutual Efficiency business forum, multimedia developer and creative programmer from India Varun Desai will hold a four-hour workshop and demonstrate how digital code can become a tool for artistic expression.
Varun Desai is a multidisciplinary artist from Kolkata. In his work, the author combines creative programming, electronic music and hardware design actively using installations. Using cameras and sensors that read the audience’s reactions, he creates visual art based on code.
His artistic philosophy is called “Revealing the Invisible.” Varun Desai strives to help viewers see the digital “undercurrents of the world” – the waves and signals hidden behind everyday life. The author shows that with careful observation the “ordinary” can have a profound impact on a person.
The free workshop will be held on 10 October from 10:00 to 14:00 at School 21 (2, Spartakovskaya St., block 2) with the support of the forum’s strategic partner Sberbank PJSC.
