India and China resume air traffic after a 5-year hiatus

India has launched daily direct flights from Kolkata to Guangzhou. According to RIA Novosti, the second route, which includes three flights per week from Shanghai to Delhi, is expected to be launched on November 9.

The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation hopes that the direct flights will expand the economic and trade potential between the two countries and promote tourism.
