The Indian side is studying a draft agreement on visa–free travel for tourist groups, and all instructions on how to operate the mechanism have been handed over, similar to agreements with China and Iran. Nikita Kondratiev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, told Izvestia about this.
The Russian side is counting on a positive decision from India and expects a 2-3-fold increase in tourist traffic, similar to other countries. In addition, this topic may become part of the agenda for the Russian-Indian summit talks in December.
