The leaders of Russia and India held successful talks in China in early September 2025. These meetings became a continuation of a Russian-Indian dialogue when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an official visit to Russia in July 2024. In October 2024, an Indian delegation participated in the BRICS Summit in Kazan.
Following the negotiations, the leaders of the two countries set an ambitious goal: to increase bilateral trade between Russia and India to $100 billion by 2030. Achieving this requires establishing new regional platforms where businesses and government can build direct ties and launch joint projects.
Tatarstan, which situated at the crossroads of East and West, will be the first Russian region to create such a platform. On 8-9 October, Kazan will host the first TIME: Russia - India. Mutual Effectiveness business forum.
The forum’s programme will unite over 12 thematic sessions covering key areas of cooperation at the Bashir Rameyev IT Park:
investments and finance;
labour market;
education and science;
information and digital technologies;
medicine and pharmaceuticals;
oil, gas and chemical industries;
agriculture;
media session with Indian journalists;
cooperation in the film industry.
The organisers paid special attention to cultural and sports events including:
Indian film festival at Mir cinema;
lecture dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th anniversary;
The Future of Russian-Indian Relations youth round-table talk at Kazan Federal University;
days of Indian culture at the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan featuring tastings of traditional Indian cuisine, masterclasses, Indian music and dance concerts and educational lectures;
digital art exhibition by an Indian media artist;
international student cricket match;

phygital cricket.
Additionally, the forum will include B2B meetings, industrial tours, an exhibition of Tatarstan and Russian enterprises and Indian tea tastings. The business programme will kick off with a plenary session titled Russia and India: Time to Cooperate, Time for Regions, which will present practical case studies of interaction at the regional level.
The forum is held with the support of the Embassy of India to Russia. Agreements on joint projects and the launch of new business initiatives are expected to be signed during the forum.
“Our team has spent the whole year working across various Indian provinces, participating in business events to understand our partners’ expectations and create an agenda that will enable to quickly launch successful cooperation stories. The TIME will become one of the first infrastructure platforms for Tatarstan and Russian businesses to enter the Indian market,” said head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.
The TIME: Russia - India. Mutual Effectiveness business forum will become a new growth point for Russian-Indian relations uniting business cooperation, culture, sport and science.
