An investor from India intends to start a production facility in Tatarstan for packaging herbal teas, which he plans to export to that country. This was announced by entrepreneur Pandey Ashwini Kumar at the business forum "TIME: Russia – India. Mutual Efficiency."
"Herbal teas are very popular in India, but not all of them are grown on its territory. This is a deficit. I want to develop this direction and produce teas in Russia, in Mamadysh and export them. It is very profitable for me as a businessman—I will have VAT and so on," said Pandey Ashwini Kumar.
Currently, the businessman has launched a facility in the Mamadysh district of Tatarstan for packaging Indian tea—both bagged and loose. The capacity is 50-100 tons per month. It is planned to reach this capacity within a few weeks to a month. Overall, the installed equipment allows for packaging up to 300 tons of products if necessary. The project involves creating 50-60 jobs. Investments in the project amounted to 200 million rubles. Overall, the investor intends to invest $50 million.
According to Ashwini Kumar, the production of herbal teas, which will be exported abroad, is planned to be launched in March 2026. Additionally, the launch of a printing enterprise is planned, which will produce packaging material.
The investor plans to organize the supply of herbal teas produced in Mamadysh to India via Iran. "We have a very good route, which I have tested personally – through Iran. Moreover, I have reliable agents – port owners who provide support," said Ashwini Kumar.
