On March 25, 2026, “How to Do Business with India” business seminar was held in Kazan. The seminar focused on practical issues related to Russian companies entering the Indian market and developing bilateral cooperation. The event was held at the Kazan Palace by TASIGO Hotel and was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of India in Kazan and the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation, with the support of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. The seminar brought together representatives of government agencies, business associations, the banking sector, industry, and the entrepreneurial community of Russia and India. The discussion focused on specific tools for working with Indian partners, such as search and verification of counterparties, organizing logistics, financial calculations, localization of production, as well as participation in Indian industrial clusters. The seminar program included seven thematic sessions covering key areas of cooperation, such as market entry mechanisms and industrial cooperation, the agro-industrial complex, textiles, pharmaceuticals, “green mobility”, and human capital development. Opening the seminar, Taliya Minullina, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, emphasized the strategic importance of the Indian direction: “India is one of the world’s most dynamic economies today, with a huge domestic market and steady growth. However, our entrepreneurs are not fully exploiting this potential yet. Seminars like these are an opportunity to move from general interest to specific projects, build direct contacts, and establish a practical foundation for long-term cooperation.” According to the Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, trade turnover between Tatarstan and India reached approximately $400 million by the end of 2025, demonstrating growth, but the potential for cooperation is significantly greater. The Consul General of India in Kazan, Jaysundhar D., noted that the opening of a diplomatic mission is already yielding practical results for business: “The opening of the Indian Consulate General in Kazan was an important step in strengthening ties with Russian regions. We can already see increased business activity, more contacts between companies, and interest in joint projects. Our goal is to make interaction as convenient and understandable as possible for businesses in both countries.” The seminar was part of a systematic effort to develop Russian-Indian partnerships and continuation of the business agenda of the “TIME: Russia – India. Mutual Efficiency” Forum, confirming the high level of business interest in the Indian market and their readiness to launch joint projects.
