Director Ilyas Daudi has emerged triumphant at the Indian Cine Film Festival 2026, which took place in Mumbai. The S.A. Gerasimov All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) postgraduate student presented five of his works in the main competition, three of which brought him victory.
Daudi secured victory in the categories of ‘Feature Documentary’ (for the film About Cinema and Life… Sadik Idrisov), ‘Feature Film Screenplay’ (for the series Kipling’s Soldier) and ‘Music Video’ (Nai Noumie).
The Russian director's success on the Indian stage serves as a testament to the strengthening cultural ties between the two nations. A logical continuation of this dialogue will be the 2nd Business Forum ‘TIME: Russia – India. Mutual Efficiency’, which will host an Indian Film Festival at the MIR Cinema on 14 October.
